JJacqui has been dancing with the mythic imagination for much of her life, through her love of the wisdom held in fairy tales and her work as a spiritual herbalist listening for the voices of ancient wisdom and stories in the land. As a storyteller and teacher, she is passionate about encouraging others to explore their own mythology at the borderlands of psyche, body, culture and landscape. Jacqui has been facilitating women’s circles, ceremonies, retreats, workshops and courses in Australia and internationally for over 30 years. Her work bridges mythic philosophy, embodiment practices and wild perception, deep journeying, and nature communion. It is always loving, empowering and experiential, inviting you to come home to a profound sense of belonging, transformation and your sacred presence.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need storytelling experience?
No! Just bring your enthusiasm, imagination and curiosity. All exercises and processes will be well explained. This is a workshop for beginners or those more experienced in story.Will sessions be recorded? Yes, the whole workshop will be recorded and available afterwards.
What if I miss a session? If you miss some time during the day, please log on again when possible, as you will easily be able to catch up with the next exercise. However, please note that the story and general explanations for the unfolding of the workshop will be shared in the first 90 minutes. It is important to not miss this, or the rest of the day will make little sense.
Is the workshop interactive? Yes! There will be group discussions as well as several small group breakout rooms for further explorations and sharing (optional). There are numerous individual creative processes throughout the day.
How spiritual is this course? Your interpretations and meaning making of this tale and your journey with it, is entirely up to you. Valemon lends itself to many guises. The story goes back to ancient roots in European Neolithic matrilineal culture, connecting with bear as great mother goddess. It crosses many land borders, where the story of marrying the bear has been sacred business for many centuries.
