STORY CEREMONIES AND WORKSHOPS

Where stories come from remains a mystery.

Some will say stories come from the earth speaking out loud, others will say they are whispered by the ancestors, and others will speak of stories that rise from within our bones.

The relationship between ceremony, ritual, and story, goes back to the roots of the very first expression of theatre, and with the actor, Dionysus.

Each ceremony will be guided by a specific story, and that story will provide an invitation for you to explore how that story is — or isn’t– being lived through you and the life you are choosing.

Over the course of the 19-months of the curriculum there will be workshops and ceremonies you can choose to participate in. A workshop is something you may be familiar with, an all-day affair that combines learning, practice, time to create, and time to share and be witnessed.

In story ceremonies, we step out of the pedestrian, and into the mystery of story, into a sacred space, outside of time, and has a more open and spacious nature of being with story.

When registering for the full curriculum, five 1-Day Story Ceremonies or Workshops are included in your tuition. You can also register for each story ceremony on its own.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

The Speak Your Spark 20-month curriculum consists of 11 self-contained learning modules. Students can participate in the entire 20-month experience, receiving the optimal benefits, or they may join one course at a time with unique, stand-alone workshops.

The Speak Your Spark program begins a new rotation every two years. It is possible to join the community at any point during our journey if there are spaces available in the individual workshops. However, enrollment will be limited, in order to preserve the intimacy of the group. If courses are filled by participants of the 20-month curriculum, then individual courses will be closed for registration.

A Special Invitation from Leah Lamb, MSW, Transformational Storyteller, Founder and Principal Instructor of the School for Sacred Storytelling

We are living in extraordinary times.

Some will call this the end times.

In many ways these are miraculous times in which such diverse peoples with different origin stories, different belief systems, and different values form a multi-cultural society.

At no other time have people experienced so much transition at such a rapid pace, from technology to climate change to the appreciation of diverse identities.

As storytellers, we hold the keys to living through change, grief, and the initiations that life offers us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there different ways for me to participate in the curriculum?

Experience with teaching in person and on-line led me to create a 20-month curriculum that consists of 11 self-contained learning modules. Students can participate in the entire 20-month experience, receiving the optimal benefits, or they may join one course at a time with unique, stand-alone workshops.

If courses are filled by participants of the 20-month curriculum, then individual courses will be closed for registration.

What if I just learned about the program and I want to jump in?

The program rotates like a wheel. You can join the 20-month program at any time.

Can I attend just one module?

Yes, you can attend one or more modules. You receive a discount when you register for more than one course at a time.

All classes are recorded and will be available to watch within 24 hours.

You can apply for a scholarship here. We have limited spaces and prioritize elders and youngers. There is also an opportunity to do work-exchange.

What if I’m unable to complete the full 20-month program?

There are limited spaces in the 20-month Speak Your Spark program. The program requires a high level of commitment that opens the door for deeper breakthroughs to happen. It is important for students to be fully committed to the entire program and to plan ahead to make space and time for it during the 20-month period. That said, Leah recognizes that abrupt, significant life changes can occur, and the team works with any participant in such a situation to make the best decision under the new circumstances.

What comes after the Speak Your Spark program?

There is a facilitator training program in which you can continue your work with story as a tool for healing. Inquire to info@leahlamb.com for more information.
